Ad Turned Controversy?

Earlier on, Ye released a Super Bowl commercial to direct viewers to his website, only for them to discover a disturbing sight: T-shirts emblazoned with a swastika for sale.

The ad, which was reportedly aired in the Los Angeles area, featured Ye in a dentist’s chair casually chatting about spending all his money on new teeth. Filmed on an iPhone, the low-budget commercial ended with a simple call to action: “Go to yeezy.com.”

But those who did were met with a shocking sight—white T-shirts with black swastikas on the front, listed for $20, with no accompanying explanation beyond the label "HH-01", a widely recognized hate symbol that stands for “Heil Hitler.”

This isn’t Ye’s first brush with controversy over antisemitism. His X (formerly Twitter) account was deactivated following a recent string of antisemitic posts. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) responded swiftly, calling the shirt sales another blatant display of hate.

Despite the backlash, Ye had previously claimed on X that he would “never sell a swastika tee” due to concerns about physical harm coming to those who wear it. Yet, the shirts appeared for sale over the weekend.

By Monday morning, Ye’s X account with over 33 million followers had vanished. It’s unclear whether the account was suspended or if Ye deactivated it himself.

Before going offline, he posted a message:

"I’m logging out of Twitter. I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent. It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board."

This latest controversy only adds to Ye’s long history of incendiary remarks, including previous antisemitic and racist statements that have led to bans and backlash.

A Calculated Move or Another Meltdown?

Was this another misguided publicity stunt, or does it mark an even darker turn in Ye’s behavior? Given his track record, it’s hard to say. But one thing is certain: Ye’s actions continue to alienate fans, brands, and platforms alike.

While some sources claim that the sign is actually the Haken Kreuz and not the latter, it’s not so easy to guess where Ye stands with fans. With his social media presence disappearing and public outrage mounting, Ye may soon find himself running out of places to air his grievances.
