Artist Expresses Gratitude for Return to US Stage
Vybz Kartel is set to make a historic return to the US stage, performing his first show in over two decades.
Following the reinstatement of his US and UK visas in late January, the dancehall artist announced he will perform at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on April 11th. Kartel expressed his gratitude, stating, "This is a monumental moment for me and the culture. To be back on U.S. soil performing for my fans is a blessing that I don’t take lightly. The wait is finally over. New York, get ready."
CJ Milan, CEO and Founder of Reggae Fest, the event's presenter, emphasized the significance of the event. "This is going to be the biggest dancehall concert in U.S. history. To be at Barclays Center with the biggest dancehall artist in the world is epic! It’s about time dancehall gets the recognition it deserves. I’m very excited to have Vybz Kartel for his first U.S. show."
This US performance follows Kartel's recent appearance at the GRAMMY Awards in February, his first time on US soil in over 20 years. He was nominated in the Best New Reggae Album category. He has also performed at the MOBO Awards in England and is scheduled to perform at London's Wireless Festival.
Ticket presale begins on March 4th, with general sale starting on March 6th.
