The Weeknd is taking his creative vision to the next level with his upcoming thriller film, "Hurry Up Tomorrow." This film, starring The Weeknd alongside Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan, will serve as an extension of his forthcoming album of the same name.
Directed by Trey Edward Shults, known for his acclaimed films "Waves" and "It Comes at Night," "Hurry Up Tomorrow" promises to be a psychological thriller. The Weeknd, along with Reza Fahim, the late Kevin Turen, and Harrison Kreiss, will produce the film.
Lionsgate will distribute the film worldwide, and Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, expressed excitement about the project, stating, "Abel is a visionary whose art cannot be confined by any single medium. With 'Hurry Up Tomorrow,' in partnership with Trey, his musical universe expands onto the big screen with a psychological thriller that will usher in a new cinematic experience for fans."
While the specific plot details of the film remain undisclosed, it is expected to delve into the existential and self-referential themes explored in The Weeknd's recent albums, "Dawn FM" and "After Hours." Fans eagerly await the release of the official trailer and the film's release date.
