The grime pioneer debuts his one-day music festival in South London's Crystal Palace Park.
Skepta has officially unveiled plans for his inaugural Big Smoke Festival, scheduled for the summer of 2024. As the curator of the festival's entire lineup, the British artist is gearing up for a one-day, two-stage event.
Crystal Palace Park in Southeast London is the chosen venue for this exciting festival in July 2024. Skepta has already disclosed that one of the stages will be hosted by his record label, Más Tiempo. In addition to headlining the festival, marking his only U.K. performance for the next year, Skepta teased fans during an Instagram Live session, hinting at an impressive lineup. In his words during the Live announcement, "I’m gassed to finally announce that Big Smoke Festival is official... I’m so excited, it’s been a wild one to do this."
Expressing gratitude to his supporters, Skepta acknowledged the anticipation surrounding his return to the stage. He emphasized the festival's significance, stating, "I really wanted to save all that energy and put it into something that was for us, by us." Skepta outlined the festival's layout, detailing, "There’s going to be a live stage with all your favorite acts – anyone you know that’s affiliated with Skepta. There’ll be a live stage on one side and the Más Tiempo stage which will also be a full lineup. I might bust up one stage, fly over to the other one, and link with Jammer. It’s gonna be crazy.”
Ticket sales are set to commence on December 1, available online.
