Producer Reveals "Personal Issue" Led to Tension
Metro Boomin has finally opened up about the public feud with Drake that captivated the music industry. In a recent interview with GQ, the renowned producer revealed that a personal issue sparked the tension between the two artists.
“Me and [Drake], we had a personal issue, and for the record, not over no girl or nothing silly like that,” Metro explained. “It was a personal issue that really hurt me and disappointed me.” He emphasized that such conflicts are common in personal relationships, regardless of public perception.
Metro also clarified that his collaborative project with Future, "WE DON'T TRUST YOU," was not intended as a direct attack on Drake. He dismissed the notion that they spent two years crafting the albums solely to target Drake, emphasizing that such a level of dedication would be excessive and unrealistic.
While Metro acknowledged his public response to Drake's diss tracks, he expressed regret for his actions. He admitted that his online behavior was out of character and that he should have handled the situation differently.
Future, on the other hand, seemed more nonchalant about the entire situation. He questioned the existence of a feud, suggesting that he was unaware of any significant tension between himself and Drake. He also expressed disappointment at being excluded from the "Big Three" narrative, which included Drake, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar. Future argued that his contributions to the music industry should have earned him recognition as a prominent figure in hip-hop.
