The artist is expanding his universe with a new comic book series.
In early 2024, Kid Cudi is all set to introduce his eagerly awaited Moon Man comic book to the world.
This upcoming comic book is a collaborative creation, with co-writer Kyle Higgins and illustrators Marco Locati and Igor Monti. Entertainment Weekly reports that the Moon Man comic delves into the story of astronaut Ramon Townsend. He attains a newfound celebrity status after successfully rescuing his crew from a potentially fatal moon mission. However, there are undisclosed moments from the mission, unrecorded on tape, and these concealed memories have the power to transform Ramon into something that the world has never witnessed before.
“This might be one of the top three coolest things I’ve ever been a part of,” Cudder expressed during his announcement at the New York Comic Con. He continued, “This story is something that took a lot of love from everyone involved. I promise you this comic will be unlike anything you’ve read before. To each and every person that picks up a copy and shows support in January — I love you more than you can imagine.”
Higgins described Moon Man as akin to Miracleman, exploring how a superhero's existence can impact the real world. “What we specialize in and pride ourselves on is building very relatable, contemporary superheroes for the 2020s with great aesthetics and style that have something to say and push the boundaries of the medium,” he explained. “As Ramon’s powers grow and he tries to change the world, readers will watch what that means and what happens as a result. This is very much our Miracleman for 2024.”
