Janelle Monáe is gearing up for the highly anticipated release of her new album, "The Age of Pleasure," and she has just announced an exciting North American tour to accompany it. The tour will kick off on August 30 at the WAMU Theater in Seattle, Washington, and will include stops in major cities like Atlanta, Chicago, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and more.
After captivating the East Coast, Monáe will take her electrifying performances back to the West Coast, with upcoming shows in Inglewood, San Francisco, Phoenix, and Houston, among others.
"The Age of Pleasure" marks Monáe's first album in five years, following the success of her Grammy-nominated album "Dirty Computer" released in 2018. To give fans a taste of what's to come, she recently released "Lipstick Lover," one of the 14 tracks on the album, along with an official music video directed by Alan Ferguson and Monáe herself.
In a recent interview with Apple Music 1's Zane Lowe, Monáe expressed her hopes for the album, saying, "I hope that people feel that when they listen to the music, that they feel that when they come and, you know, counter with me when I’m around. I definitely have had an opportunity to evolve and grow and to tap into the things that bring me pleasure, the things that perhaps I should rethink and rework."
