Gap Inc. has filed a lawsuit against Kanye West's YEEZY clothing line for $2 million USD following the failed YEEZY Gap collaboration. The company claims that West made unauthorized changes to a Los Angeles rental property, which the landlord is now trying to collect on. Court documents obtained by New York Post reveal that Art City Center sued Gap for "damages" to the property, citing architectural changes like an erected exterior ramp, tunnel, removal of ceiling lights, building a wall, and the removal of three bathrooms. Gap is pushing the claim to West, denying responsibility.

The YEEZY Gap collaboration was announced in 2020, but it ended abruptly last fall following West's anti-Semitic comments. Gap claims in the lawsuit that West breached the strategic agreement by making, not repairing, or restoring alterations to the premises without their participation or approval, resulting in Gap incurring expenses to repair and restore said premises. West has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
