From Disney Star to R&B Queen
After years of anticipation, Coco Jones has finally released her debut album, Why Not More?, marking a significant milestone in her evolution from Disney Channel star to Grammy-winning R&B powerhouse.
Coco Jones first captured audiences in 2012 with her role in Disney Channel's Let It Shine. However, her journey to musical heights was not without challenges. After parting ways with her initial label, she independently released several projects, including the EP “H.D.W.Y.” in 2019. Her perseverance paid off when she signed with High Standardz/Def Jam in 2022, leading to the release of What I Didn't Tell You, featuring the platinum-certified single "ICU," which earned her a Grammy in 2024.
Released on April 25, 2025, Why Not More? is a 14-track album that showcases Jones's versatility and growth as an artist. The album blends introspective ballads with contemporary R&B, Pop&B, and Trap nB elements. Collaborations with artists like Future and YG Marley, and producers such as StarGate and London on Da Track, enrich the album's dynamic sound.
Standout tracks include "Here We Go (Uh Oh)," which became her first No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, and "Taste," notable for its sample of Britney Spears’ "Toxic."
Beyond her music, Jones continues to shine as an actress, portraying Hilary Banks in Peacock’s Bel-Air. With the show's final season approaching, she is also preparing for her upcoming tour, set to begin on May 6 in Philadelphia.
Why Not More? is not just an album title it's a statement of her ambition and her evolving artistry. As Jones herself explains, “Why Not More?” is the question I’ve been asking myself in hopes of understanding me and growing in confidence. This album is about leaning into whoever you are right now without worrying about who you’ve been or who you want to be in the future. Authenticity will never lead you to the wrong place, so why not lean in?”
