From overcoming arthrogryposis to collaborating with Wizkid and Asake, Anaïs Cardot is a rising global star blending R&B, soul, and Afrobeats with unstoppable talent and resilience.
Anaïs Cardot’s journey from a young girl in Gabon to an internationally recognized artist is a story of resilience, passion, and pure talent. With a voice that effortlessly blends R&B, soul, and Afrobeats, Anaïs is carving out a unique space in the music industry. From overcoming physical challenges as a child to collaborating with some of the biggest names in music, she is proving that nothing is impossible when talent meets determination.
Born to Break Boundaries
Anaïs Cardot was born in Gabon and faced an uphill battle from the start. She was diagnosed with arthrogryposis, a rare condition affecting mobility. Doctors predicted she might never walk, talk, or sit independently. But Anaïs defied the odds, thanks to a supportive family that nurtured her creativity and love for music.
By the age of 14, she had already started writing her own songs, drawing inspiration from literature—particularly authors like Victoria Hislop and Eckhart Tolle. Her songwriting, often centered on self-love and mental health, showed a level of emotional depth beyond her years.
Another factor that makes Anaïs special? Her ability to weave multiple languages into her music. Fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, she creates songs that resonate across cultures, making her a truly global artist.
The Big Move to Paris and a Breakthrough EP
In 2018, Anaïs took a leap of faith and moved to Paris to pursue music professionally. This decision paid off in a big way when she released her debut EP, Pink Magnolia, in 2023.
The project was a deeply personal one. In her own words:
“Pink Magnolia, a name with dual significance, captures the essence of my musical journey. It reflects my evolving thoughts and emotions over the past few years. Like the flower, this body of work remained hidden before blooming into something beautiful.”
Songs like Colors and Soldier showcased her soulful voice and powerful storytelling, with Soldier being co-produced by Nigerian hitmaker P.priime. The EP was well received internationally, gaining radio play in Paris, Los Angeles, and Libreville.
This was just the beginning.

Anaïs took to Instagram to express her excitement, writing:
“Morayo by @wizkidayo out! Find me on ‘Slow’ 🫶🏽 Produced by the amazing @p2jmusic, @p.priime & @aod____. Thank you Wizkid for having me on such a beautiful project.”
This collaboration helped introduce her to a larger Afrobeats audience, and she wasn’t stopping there.
