After a decade in the industry, French-Canadian contemporary ready-to-wear label 3.Paradis is set to make its runway debut during Paris Fashion Week Men's. Led by creative director Emeric Tchatchoua, the brand will showcase its first-ever runway show at Square des Périchaux on June 23.
The Spring 2024 collection, titled "Journey of Dreams," is centered around the celebration of "the process of living our dreams." Tchatchoua, who grew up in a working-class neighborhood in Paris, finds deep significance in presenting his dream-inspired line in the same location where he first began envisioning his life as a designer. His love for Japanese fashion, influenced by online research during his upbringing in Paris, as well as his French roots, passion for pop art, and African heritage, have all played a significant role in shaping his design approach.
Established in 2013 after Tchatchoua's graduation from Montreal's ESMM Fashion School, 3.Paradis initially focused exclusively on menswear. The brand gained recognition for its meticulously crafted silhouettes and distinctive collage-like designs. In 2018, just five years after its founding, 3.Paradis became a semifinalist for the LVHM Prize for Young Designers.
Last year, the label expanded its scope to include more genderless fashion, gradually integrating women into its narrative and imagery. With the upcoming Spring 2024 show, Tchatchoua aims to remind people that the journey itself is the dream. He emphasizes that the sacrifices, passion, and dedication invested in bringing the vision and message of 3.Paradis to life are the very essence of that dream.
