The renowned designer continues his innovative partnership with Crocs, introducing a third silhouette to the Pollex Pod family.
Earlier this year, Salehe Bembury was appointed as the Creative Director for the Crocs x Pollex Pod. This role is specifically tied to the success of the Pollex Clog, a molded foam-based shoe that Bembury designed for Crocs in 2021. The Pollex Clog has consistently sold out with each new colorway release.
As the Creative Director, Bembury, in his position lasting a minimum of two years since his April appointment, is tasked with continually conceptualizing new Pollex shoes for Crocs. During the summer, Bembury and Crocs introduced a slide version of the Pollex, and in the past month, he began hinting at another original model.
The initial collaboration image revealed the shoe's underside, marked with a distinctive “Crocs Salehe Bembury” stamp. A recent image shared by the creative director showcases a sneaker featuring a rubbery Pollex-style sole.
The shoe's body seems to be crafted from peach-colored leather, complemented by a beige mesh tongue and inner lining. The sole mirrors the distinctive gorpcore style of the Pollex, featuring green rubber molded around the sneaker, adorned with a blue wavy design.
In the accompanying caption, Bembury holds the Pollex sneaker and succinctly announces that the release is scheduled for “SS 24” (Spring/Summer 2024).
Stay tuned for more updates on the highly anticipated release of Bembury and Crocs' inaugural Pollex sneaker.
