Following Tremaine Emory's departure from Supreme, he announced the opening of the new Denim Tears flagship store in New York City. Denim Tears, founded by Emory in 2019, has collaborated with heritage denim brand Levi's on their third collection.
The Levi's x Denim Tears collection features cotton-wreath-printed pieces, including leather versions of the Type 3 Jacket, 501 Jeans, and a leather biker vest. The collection draws inspiration from the Black biker community in America, celebrating the sense of danger, pride, respect, and commitment to freedom within the culture. The biker aesthetic revolves around treating clothing as a sacred and lifetime object, with imperfections like heat damage, scratches, rips, and fuel stains adding character and symbolism.
The ten-piece collaboration includes co-branded monikers from Denim Tears and Levi's, seen as suede-embossed patches or all-over prints on leather pants, sweaters, and more. Classic silhouettes like the Western Stitch 501 jeans and Western Stitch Denim Shirt feature Western motifs. Additionally, a leather vest with a chenille pharaoh patch pays homage to Afro-Futurism. Accessories in the collection include an embroidered black and gold Rucksack bag with Western motifs and flower appliques.
The Levi's x Denim Tears collection will be available worldwide at Levi's and Denim Tears starting on September 12.
