Merky FC, an initiative founded by rapper Stormzy, is expanding to offer 50 new jobs to young Black people aged 18-24.
Stormzy's #Merky FC program is back for its second year, providing opportunities for young Black people in the UK to enter the football industry. The initiative aims to address the underrepresentation of Black individuals in the football industry, particularly in roles behind the scenes rather than on the field.
Last year's launch of #Merky FC was a success, with 15 participants securing job placements in various areas of the football industry, including content creation, marketing, sales, and more.
This year, the program has expanded significantly, offering 50 career opportunities across media companies, agencies, and major football clubs. Some partners from the previous year have returned, and new industry players like Arsenal FC, EA Sports, and ITV have joined the initiative.
Applications are open to young Black individuals aged 18 to 24, and interested candidates can apply through the #Merky FC website. This program is an important step in promoting diversity and inclusion in the football industry.
