Designer's L.E.D. Studio Expands with Exciting New Project
Heron Preston unveils his highly anticipated "Orange Label" under his L.E.D. Studio. This project builds upon themes explored in his past collaboration with the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) project "UNIFORM." Orange Label serves as a creative playground for Preston, allowing him to explore the concept of "purity in fashion" through innovative designs.
"Orange Label" functions as a test kitchen for Preston, offering a space for experimentation and exploration. Drawing inspiration from his 2016 "UNIFORM" project, Preston repurposes leftover labels from the collaboration with DSNY for his new line of t-shirts. These labels, featured in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion" exhibition and ultimately acquired for their permanent collection, gain a new lease on life in the "Orange Label" collection.
The labels, with their signature orange color, represent a fresh start for Preston. The t-shirts themselves are a collaborative effort with EVERY.WORLD and come in classic white and black, featuring no graphics except for the repurposed, one-sided "UNIFORM" label. Each shirt boasts a unique hand-stamped design with the L.E.D. logo, purchase date, "Made in USA" inscription, and a unit number.
Limited to just 300 pieces, the "Orange Label" collection drops on December 12th at 10 am EST on L.E.D. Studio's website. Additional limited drops will follow throughout the next few months until supplies run out.
