Expanding Grocery Options: Chowdeck, a Nigerian on-demand food delivery platform, has announced a new partnership with Shoprite, a major supermarket chain, to offer online grocery delivery in Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, and Port-Harcourt. This collaboration will allow customers to conveniently order groceries from Shoprite through the Chowdeck app and have them delivered directly to their doorstep.
Building on Success: Launched in 2021, Chowdeck has experienced rapid growth, surpassing $1.2 million in gross merchandise value and boasting over 60,000 active users. This success is attributed, in part, to the company's efficient delivery network, which boasts approximately 1,300 riders across its four operational cities.
Addressing Traffic Challenges: Chowdeck claims to have developed a unique approach to logistics that avoids traffic delays, a major problem faced by many delivery platforms in Nigeria. Co-founder and CEO Femi Aluko told Rest of World that the company's large scale, with over 10,000 daily deliveries, allows them to optimize their operations and overcome logistical challenges.
Holiday Boost: This timely partnership comes as Nigeria enters the busy Yuletide season, a period of increased consumer demand. By joining forces, Chowdeck and Shoprite aim to cater to this demand and offer a convenient shopping solution for consumers.
