Oxlade continues his winning streak since the launch of his chart-topping single "KU LO SA" last year. The Nigerian Afrobeats sensation recently joined forces with Dave for their collaborative track, "Intoxycated."
Now, he makes a return with a concise EP featuring just two tracks. The KATIGORI/PIANO EP comprises the eponymous songs "KATIGORI" and "PIANO," the former of which was crafted three years ago, predating Oxlade's breakthrough in the industry.
"PIANO," on the other hand, is more of a club-oriented song, blending Oxlade's signature Lagos Afrobeats style with the rhythmic beats of Amapiano.
"’KATIGORI’ is a three-year-old record, created at a time when I had fame but not success," remarked Oxlade. "It was me envisioning my current position and prophesying my future because I believe there's a moment in my music career when everyone will acknowledge that I'm the GOAT."
"On the flip side, ‘PIANO’ is a result of all my fast-paced records that didn’t get the recognition they deserved."
Expressing his desire to showcase both facets of his musical persona—the contemplative, romantic side and the lively, club-ready side—Oxlade released a music video for "KATIGORI," set against the picturesque backdrop of Nigeria's shores.
