Places+Faces is a London-based streetwear brand that has taken the fashion world by storm. Founded in 2012 by a group of friends, the brand quickly gained a cult following for its edgy designs, underground aesthetic, and unwavering commitment to youth culture.
Places+Faces was born out of a shared passion for music, art, and street culture. The founders, who were immersed in the vibrant underground scene of London, sought to create a brand that reflected their unique perspective and celebrated the creativity of their community. Their goal was to bridge the gap between streetwear and high fashion, offering authentic and inclusive designs that resonated with a global audience.
One of the key factors behind Places+Faces' success has been its ability to capture the zeitgeist of youth culture. The brand's designs often incorporate references to contemporary art, music, and social issues, making them relevant and relatable to a younger generation. Places+Faces has also been known for its collaborations with influential artists, musicians, and brands, further solidifying its position as a cultural touchstone
Imran Ciesay and Solomon Boyede, the founders of hip-hop’s favorite Tumblr, “Places + Faces,” have always been in the right places at the right time. Both London natives, Ciesay, 23, moved to New York in 2013 to live with his uncle, which is when he started worming his way into rap shows with his camera. Unsure what to do with the photos, he called a friend back home, imploring him to take pictures in London so they could make a Tumblr. And Places+Faces was born.
